JESUS - The Everlasting Light

The Bible says in Is 60:20

Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

When the sun shines then there is light and it is called day, when the sun sets then it is dark and this is called night. But for the people of God in heaven there is a sun which shines and there is no night and no darkness. This light is for ever. The Lord is our light and there is no darkness, no sorrow, no difficulty and no tears.

The Bible says in Matt 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

We must understand how to be that light. When the current goes the emergency light comes on. But the emergency light has to be charged when the current is there. So the emergency light gives us light in darkness. In the same way we have to charge our selves everyday looking unto the Lord Jesus and then whether it is day or night we will have the light. The Word says that we are the suns, which are charged by the Lord. Now whatever the darkness, or the sorrow or difficulty that may come but the life that is charged by the Lord will never go into darkness. There may be darkness on all sides but it cannot cover the house where the Lords light is there. When we continue to look to Him and charge our lives then whatever the darkness and problems we will be in the light. So everyday the eyes of His children should be upon Him. But many a times our life is in the light and then it goes into darkness. Sometimes we are in faith and after some time in unbelief, sometimes in love and sometimes no love. We must always be in His light, love and in faith.

A Story

There is a story told about a poor boy who was going through the garbage in the dustbin As a rich man passed that way and had pity upon him. He took that boy home, gave him bath, put on good clothes, gave him food and started to care for him. But the first thing the man did was that he took a photograph of the boy in the bad state. The man sent the boy to school and the boy grew up and came to his youth and became a strong boy. One day as the father came he was smoking a cigarette and drinking beer along with his friends. When the man saw this he was very sad and sat down in sorrow. The boy came and enquired with the father, justifying that there was nothing wrong as he was sitting home along with his friends. Then the man removed that photograph and showed it to him and explained to him how his life was before, how he was searching in the dustbin, and that had taken him from the road side so that he may find a good life and not become a drunkard and a way ward person. Then the boy understood His first life.

In the same way the Lord has worked in all our lives in a similar manner. We were caught up in difficult situations, in sickness, in sorrows on all sides. Even though we had all things the Lord has still done His work in all our lives. So our faith and our mind should always be upon the Lord. Let us read Ps 77:1

I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

Every day our cry should be to our Lord, our faith and mind should always be on the Lord. When we forget our Lord then our life becomes sorrowful.

Once there was a Father and a son. One day the Father went to the liquor shop and slowly the son also reached there. When the Father saw the son he got angry and scolded at the son saying how you came here. The son replied ' I followed the imprint of your footsteps and reached here.'

If our walk, our thinking is towards the Lord then our children always will follow in that path. When we slip and if we change our ways away from the Lord, then our children also will do the same and follow in our footsteps. If we go in the evil way then our family also will follow us. We have to cling on to the Lord who blessed us and gave us light and joy in our lives. Let us read Job 33:11

He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

Job walked in the footsteps of the Lord and prepared to live according to the way of the Lord. We must remember this. During difficult and trying times when we fall into unbelief then we stand to loose in many ways. But when we look unto Him when we fall then He is able to lift us up, as many times we fall. But when the Lord is not with us and if we fall even once then if is difficult for us to rise again. When our life is filled with the praises of the Lord then it will be one of joy and peace else it will be sorrowful and sinful.

UNCHANGING IN HIS MERCIES

We as humans change but our God will never change. His love and mercy is always upon His people. We thank the Lord and have faith, and love upon Him, but when we face difficulty then unbelief comes into our heart and we change. But our God never changes as the Bible says in Mal 3:6

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Also the Bible says in Heb 13:8

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

In giving us His love, mercy and His blessings He never changes. So when our eyes are always upon Him in praising Him, thanking Him then His love and eternal life for us also does not change. The God who heard our prayers will hear our prayers in the coming days also as He does not change.

Our God had separated the light and darkness. He always wants His children to be in the light. Let us read Gen 1:1-4

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

When His children are in the light then the Lord is very happy. Let us read Jn 1:4
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

The Lord wants His chosen always to be in the light. When the Lord comes into a persons life then His life is filled with light. Jesus is the true light that has come into this world. He always wants us to be in the light, the darkness is not for us.

When the Lord met Saul He met him as light on all sides. This is the light that will lead us and show us the way.

Let us read Is 60:19
The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

Whatever the darkness in the world and whatever the darkness that will come, we have charged ourselves by continually looking unto Him. We should have the faith that the light will be with us. We need not wait for the light of the sun but the light of the Lord that is within will give light even in darkness. We must learn to live in the light.

SEEK HIS GLORY

Moses had desired to see the glory of God. It is important for every child of God to know the glory of God. We are not ordinary people. We are called to live in His light. The light within us cannot be hid behind a mountain. Our life is filled with His glory. Moses and David desired to see the glory of God. The Bible says in Ps 27:4

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

David desired to be in the house of the Lord so that he may seek the glory of God. He had a desire and a thirst to see the glory of God. In the same way we also must have a desire to see the glory of God. Then definitely he will show us his glory. Let us read Ps 63:2

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
When we desire to see His glory then he will satisfy us and we will be able to know His glory. So every believer must have the desire to see the glory of God. The Lord has separated light and darkness and wants His people to be in the light as He is the light. All of us must receive this Spirit of glory as the Bible says in 1 Pet 4:14

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

The Spirit of glory tells us that whatever the world may tells us we should not be grieved because we are blessed people. When the Holy Spirit is within you then everything may seem to go against you. But because the Spirit of glory is with you , you need not worry because you are blessed. As the Holy Spirit has come you can definitely see the glory of God. Because of His Spirit we can see His glory. When His Spirit comes into our life our life is changed. Through this we can understand the glory of God. People will go against us, the world will go against us. But we need not worry as we are blessed people because we have known the glory of God. Let us read Ps 24:7

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
For the king of glory to come into our lives we have to open the doors of our hearts. If we open the doors of our hearts then the King of glory is willing to come into all our lives. The Bible says in Is 60:1

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

When the glory of God comes into our life then we become a light. It is Gods will that we all be in the light. So when we open our hearts then the King of glory is willing to come into our hearts. The Bible says in Is 60:2

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

When His light is with you then the world can see His glory upon you. Because your life has been charged in the Lord. There will be darkness on all sides but there will be light towards you. Let us read 2 Cor 3:18

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

As we continue to grow in the glory of God then the words of Is 60:20 will become true in our lives. There is no need for the sun or the moon but the light of the Lord will become the light in our lives. As we see ourselves in the mirror in the same way, we have to continue to look to the Lord. Then we can boldly declare that the Lord Jesus who is the lamb is the light in your life.

Let us read Is 60:20

Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

The Lord desires to be as the light in everyone's lives. The Spirit of glory desires to come in everyone's life. If we open our hearts in faith then He will fill us all with His light. Then the world will see the glory of God upon you. That is the will of God for everyone in the coming year.

According to Mal 3:6 He is a God who never changes and according to Heb 13:8 , He is the same Yesterday, today and forever. So as we receive Him then through the Spirit of Glory we all can know His glory.
